My name is Jennifer and as the creator of Amerasian Family Finder I would like to welcome everyone to my site!

Many have asked why I do this and to make a long story short, here it goes:

In 1978 my parents married. My father  was  in the US Navy and my mother ran a business in the Philippines. My
mother had children prior to my father and even though they weren't his biological children, he loved them just the
same.
Growing up I never thought differently about my brother and sister, but it wasn't until 2006 that I began to wonder if
they ever thought about their biological fathers. It was known that their fathers were American, but who were they
and where were they? I talked to them both to let them know that I was a little handy on the computer and was
thinking of helping them find their birth fathers. I am sure at the time it seemed impossible, but it was a challenge I
wanted face in order to give them some closure in their lives. I got as much information from them as I could. The
next step was a bigger challenge.

If  you are Amerasian and you are looking for your biological father, I am sure you are going to relate to my next
experience, because at some point you are going to have to ask uncomfortable questions from your mother or
relatives as I did.

In order for me to get the most information I was going to have to ask my mother all kinds of questions about her
past and trust me it was difficult. On the other hand it is no longer about your mother, but about the children (in this
case my brother and sister). After many phone calls of crying, screaming and finally understanding I got as much
information as I could and began searching online.

It took me a few months but when it was all done I had found both of their fathers. For my brother it was
unfortunate that his father was deceased. Strangely enough I found his father’s  other two daughters (one of which
was named Jennifer and born in the same hospital as I was) and my brothers paternal grandmother. My brother
recently met his other sister and went to Nevada to meet his grandmother where he learned a lot about who his father
was.
As for my sister, I wish it had been better. Despite the wealth of information and the offer to take a DNA test, her
father still denies that she is his daughter. We were lucky enough to find one of his daughters that believes my sister
and they are now communicating. At least this way she is able to get vital medical information and family history so
that she will know what to look for in the future.
While doing these searches, I did discover a wealth of information from various sources including the
AMERASIAN
FOUNDATION about Amerasians who are still searching for their birth father and the little our US government is
doing to help these American citizens left behind.  I couldn't help think that if I have the ability to help my brother and
sister, why not help others as well?
So after many months of trying to put it together I came up with Amerasian Family Finder. By using various research
tools and sharing information with various agencies I am able to help as many people as I can. This is my small way
of reaching out to other Amerasians and assisting them with one of their most basic human rights:
To know their father and their American history.
