Hard cases to solve

Missing American
Thank you so much for your reply. I did try several years ago to try and find some record of
Karl William and his fate through the MIA/POW site....they had no record of him being a missing
civilian. He went missing on the 20/4/1975, with his wife Thanh Houng Vu. He had been living in
Vietnam for several years running a business import/export trade. He was approx 36years old
when he disappeared. He would be 67 if he was alive today. He was born somewhere around
1939. I will write verbatim from Kiersten"s grandfathers letter from Vietnam..........."There was a
time that I sat with Karl and he told me about his family. Karl told me he was born in Germany,
when World War 2 broke out Karl and his family sought shelter from danger with the Vicar and
some chaplain.......his parents and him ( Karl was 6 years old at the time) went into safety at a
chapel in Belguim, when the war concluded the Vicar and some of the chaplain emigrated to the
United States and lived in Delawar state Maryland U.S. Karl told me he was the youngest son .
He had 2 older brothers and a sister.
When Karl was 20 years old his mother died. Karl and his father continued to operate a small
eating place that his parents had operated for a long time. Two years later his father died. He
sold the eating place and left U.S. for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. He met my daughter
and they feel in deep love, you were born on the 10th November 1974. Their only much loved
daughter"......, this is only part of one of many letters from grandfather, but this is all we know of
Karl William. Surely someone must have missed him in America?....surely friends or relatives
wondered what happened to him. I have a photo of Karl William taken not long before he went
missing......It is very clear and he has very distinct features....... Surely Karl was registered at the
American Embassy in Saigon during the time he lived there. He made regular trips in and out of
Saigon. He was married to Thanh Houng for three years. Then they both disappeared. Hope
this all makes a bit of sense ....I think Kiersten would just like to know about his life in
America....did he go to school...all that sort of thing....Thank you soooo much for offering to help
us.....Love from Nola and Kiersten Wunderle....Queensland...Australia..........ps....Kiersten and

Amerasian name: Carmen Armstrong born in Vietnam, but adopted to another couple.
DOB: 9-**-72
In regards to my birth father, I have no information whatsoever, other than the assumption he
was probably American Negro, although I have been told that my baby photos seem like I
could be of Hispanic, Peurto Rican or Cuban.
I was born ** September 1972, at 128 Hung Vuong Street, Saigon. My mother was Bui thi
Hoa. My father is unknown, but presumably African-American, due to my dark skin colouring.
I was told that the orphanage was called NVOC N GOT, but am not sure. I was brought to
Australia in the 1975 Babylift, to Sydney, and adopted there.
I would love any help/information as this is a huge step for me to be taking, after all these
years.
My Vietnamese Birth Extract states that I was born in a maternity hospital, and the name of my
mother was given as BUI Thi Hoa. My name was BUI Thi Thuy Linh.

I am the son of an american serviceman. I know that my father was in Vietnam during the war. 1965-1973 I know that he fathered at least one child maybe up to three. I know that the birth mother was in contact with my grandmother at least once. By her account. My grandmother said that he left them as if they didn't even exist. She had forgotten the birth mother's name. She had urged him to bring her to America but my father > was lets say screwed up. He in fact has many children in the United States that he doesn't even accept. I have been trying to find anything about them but my father never told me and my grandmother was too old and couldn't remember. My father has now passed away and i don't have much to go off of but his name as i didn't really even know him. Anyway this is what i have.
> FATHER: Kenneth Herman Wagner (Army--Medical) > Birth: Maryland > GrandFather: Herman > Grandmother: Nora
> My name is Dana
> I really need to be pointed in the right direction. I want to find the family that my father never wanted. I want them to know that there are people here that still think of them and would not abandon them.
